INSTALLATION
SINGLE MACHINE INSTALLATION
Insert the CD or unzip the download zip file and run TouchTimeClock2010_Install.bat
This will install all components of the Touch Time Clock attendance system:
1. Touch Time Clock 2010
2. GrFinger fingerprint reader driver
3. Microsoft Access Runtime 2007
USERS WITH MICROSOFT ACCESS
You can still install Access Runtime, a limited version of Access that is simpler and easier for users.
MULTIPLE MACHINE/NETWORK INSTALLATION
Install the Touch Time Clock software on two computers:
1. An unsecured employee accessible public computer (“User Computer”)
2. A secured manager accessible computer (“Manager Computer”).
The “TimeManager.accde” should only be available to managers, because it allows changes to time clock data. Therefore, for security reasons DELETE THE “TimeManager.accde” FILE FROM EMPLOYEE COMPUTER OR OTHERWISE PASSWORD PROTECT OR SECURE THIS FILE.
Microsoft Access must be installed on the manager computer to run “TimeManager.accde”. Access Runtime version is a limited version of Access that is simpler and easier for users.
Security Recommendations:
- If using Windows XP, install the TouchTimeClock.accde file on a Limited User Account.
- If using a barcode scanner, disconnect or disable the keyboard and mouse from the Employee Computer. If only the barcode scanner is connected it will prevent tampering.
- If you will have many employees clocking in and out, use a dedicated computer running only the “TouchTimeClock.accde” program for clocking users in and out. To protect the time clock data from unauthorized use, “TouchTimeClock.accde” does not include managerial functions
